Chiltern Decorative & Fine Arts Society

If you are interested in the Fine Arts and you live in the Chilterns, our Society may be for you.

We invite you to explore this website to find out more about our activities. The Chiltern Decorative and Fine Arts Society has grown from a small group set up by Patricia Fay that first met in 1965 to study and enjoy the Fine Arts and antiques, to a thriving society of 300 members.

The original concept of promoting education, appreciation and conservation in the Fine Arts grew and led to the formation of many other societies and to the setting up of the national and worldwide NADFAS.

We meet for regular lectures on art-related subjects given by outstanding speakers; we have study days, day trips to venues of interest and cultural tours; and we have many volunteering opportunities in helping to preserve our heritage, as well as promoting Young Arts programmes. Come and join us!

RECENT EVENTS:

26th April 2018 - Annual General Meeting

At the above meeting the following resolution was adopted:

To adopt proposed Revision (April 2018) to the Society's Constitution: after each reference to the name The Chiltern Decorative and Fine Arts Society, adding the phrase "known as The Arts Society Chiltern", and after each reference to NADFAS, adding the phrase "known as The Arts Society".

You will now be seeing changes to the website to re-brand in line with The Arts Society image.  Apart from that you will see few changes as our Society will still maintain its commitment to high quality lectures and events.
