Celebrating the Royal Academy of Arts - to mark the 250th anniversary of the Academy -
Stephen Richardson
Thursday 24 May 2018

Britain's oldest fine arts institution celebrates its 250th anniversary in 2018.  The Royal Acaemy has an illustrious history  and we contemplate its past and review its various homes before settling on its current Mayfairr home in Burlington House. The talk would not be complete without a behind the scenes look at the Summer Exhibition. The Summer Exhibition has been held without interruption since 1769. We also consider the influence of certain world-renowned Royal Academicians, exemplary artists in their chosen field and also the pivotal role played by the RA Schools.
