Chiltern Decorative & Fine Arts Society

CDFAS Young Arts provides opportunities for young people to get involved with the creative arts mainly in the form of one-off projects. It has funded equipment purchases, provided awards for competitions and scheduled targeted opportunities to schools in the form of visits from external organisations such as Magic Lantern.

For the year 2013/2014 there was a painting competition in which four schools were involved. There were over 450 entries from which a Gold, Silver and Bronze winner was chosen together with four School prizes and twelve runners-up. The paintings were displayed in the Chalfont St. Peter Library for three weeks following the prize-giving on Saturday 7th June 2014. There were certificates and medals for all winners as well as art-related prizes.

Young Arts also supports the Chalfonts Community College and has recently funded a course of life drawing for the A-Level Art students. Amersham & Wycombe College is also supported with an Award for Excellence every year together with a cash prize for the winner.
